Disabling/Enabling in Windows
To enable caret browsing on a Windows computer, press the "F7" key. A dialogue box appears asking if you want to enable caret browsing. Click "Yes" to enable the feature. If you want to disable caret browsing, press the "F7" key a second time. You will not receive a prompt when disabling this feature. If you are using a Windows computer and this process does not work, see the section entitled, "Disabling/Enabling on a Mac or Laptop."
isabling/Enabling through About:Config
If you have difficulty enabling or disabling the feature using the F7 key, you can turn it on or off through the "About:Config" menu. Open the Firefox Web browser, type "about:config" in the address bar and press the "Enter" key if you are using a Windows computer, or the "return" key if using a Mac. Click the "I'll be careful, I promise!" button when prompted. Double click the "accessibility:browsewithcaret" preference to change the value from "True" to "False" or from "False" to "True." A value of "True" means caret browsing is enabled; a value of "False" means it is disabled.
